![]() ![]() Owners of the RTX2080Ti will need a GSync-FreeSync monitor to get a smooth gaming experience, as we did notice some drops to 51fps. And as for native 4K/Max Settings, our top four GPUs were able to provide a constant 60fps experience. The game uses DX12 and contrary to other games, the AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX cannot beat NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 (though it was able to almost match its performance).Īt 1440p/Max Settings, our top five GPUs had no trouble running the game. The AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 was also able to provide a smooth gaming experience, though there were some drops at 52fps. By enabling Hyper-Threading, we were able to eliminate those stutters on that particular system.Īt 1080p/Max Settings, our top five GPUs were able to push over 100fps at all times. ![]() However, we did experience some stuttering issues without Hyper-Threading. At 1080p/Max Settings, our simulated dual-core system was able to push over 100fps at all times. And, we are happy to report, that the game does not require a high-end CPU. The era of dual- and tri-cores is coming to end quickly. In order to find out how the game scales on multiple CPU threads, we simulated a dual-core, a quad-core and a hexa-core CPU. We'll have to see what GameGPU gets in their CPU testing. That's not a great development for us PC gamers unless we outright buy the fastest GPU. If NV and AMD have equal parts, it might become a lot more normal when NV is 20-25% faster and in other games AMD is. Granted, NV has faster GPUs right now which relieves some pressure for them to optimize as much. ![]() Also, I foresee more segregation in performance between NV and AMD GPUs as AMD and NV both continue to court developers and fight this developer war with each other. I wonder how things would have turned out if AMD was working closer with developers starting with HD4870 series. Look at Hitman Absolution for instance where a stock 7970GE is beating a GTX680 by 21%. You now really have to go out and look at the games you want to play when buying a GPU. NV was doing this very thing for the last decade with TWIMTPB program and now when both AMD and NV are engaged in the same strategy, we are starting to huge differences in performance in many games. HD7970GE is 25% faster than 770 because of AMD's direct involvement with the developer early on. My point is look at how much drivers matter for a game when AMD/NV have early access. ![]()
